A LAND OF RENEWAL & TRANSFORMATION
Where ancient waters, bold visionaries, and the power of nature shape a timeless story.

A Land Carved by Time & Water
From an Inland Sea to a Sanctuary of Healing
Before Madrid existed, this land lay beneath an ancient sea. As the waters receded, they left behind a hidden treasure: mineral springs rich in sodium sulfate, magnesium, and potassium.
This land has always called upon seekers, travelers, and visionaries, drawn by the promise of renewal.

A Timeless Destination for Healing
The Romans built temples in honor of their restorative properties, the Visigoths left sacred burial sites, paying tribute to their spiritual significance and medieval pilgrims sought renewal at the Hermitage of Santa Lucía.
A Protected Natural Sanctuary
Today, the estate is part of Madrid’s Natural Heritage, with conservation areas safeguarded under Natura 2000 Network and Preserved Plateau Lands, ensuring the protection of its rare ecosystems and landscapes.

The Industrial Revolution of Wellness
The Bold Vision That Took Carabaña to the World.
At the turn of the 20th century, pharmacist Ruperto J. Chávarri harnessed the latest technology to transform Agua de Carabaña into Spain’s most exported brand. He conducted extensive research on its medicinal properties, documenting his findings in a technical report endorsed by the most eminent doctors of the time.
To scale production, he built a hydroelectric plant and established a bottling facility. To ensure rapid distribution, he co-financed the railway extension to Madrid and even constructed his own private station, Apeadero Chávarri.
This infrastructure allowed him to efficiently transport bottled water to the capital and beyond, reaching international markets and selling over four million bottles annually.

A Global Symbol of Health & Progress
By the 1920s, Agua de Carabaña had reached Cuba, Puerto Rico, the Philippines, and Morocco and had earned 12 gold medals at world exhibitions in Paris, Brussels, London, and Nice.

A Legacy that stands today
Now a protected industrial landmark, the estate remains a testament to innovation, officially recognized as part of Madrid’s historical and cultural heritage.

A New Vision for a Historic Estate: From Export to Experience
Preserving the Past, Reimagining the Future
Today, we continue that legacy, shifting from industry to experience, from product to immersion, always preserving what makes this land unique: Instead of bottling and exporting water, we now invite the world to immerse itself in the source.
We are transforming an industrial facility into a destination of well-being, history, and nature and we are putting in place a model of sustainable tourism, where we protect and regenerate an area, which has always been a magnet for transformation—personal, regional, and global.
Just 35 minutes from Madrid, Salasia is once again a place where vision, innovation, and renewal meet.
